Wedding Duties For The Bridegroom _________________________________________________________

The Groom plays an all important role in the wedding and has specific duties to perform. These include being reponsible for the paying of a whole list of charges and fees (ie: the church fees). He is also in charge of all of the information necessary for the marriage application to be accepted. He furthermore needs to be aware of any legal requirements that are present, particularly if marrying abroad.

He needs to take responsibility for dressing himself, the Bestman and Ushers and ensure that all suits are delievered and dispatched within adeqaute time of the event. He should also take time and care to prepare and write the speech, prefably well in advance of the day.

Within the speech, a formal thank you to the Brides parents for their daughters hand in marriage and assistance of the wedding arrangements should be done. Bouquets should be presented to his own mother and the Bride's mother along with gifts to the attendents and Bestman. He is expected to socialise and talk to guests at all times and thank them for their attendence.
