The current law states that marriage is only allowed in your own parish church. If part of the couple has regularly attended a different church
for at least six months, then acceptions may be made. Between the hours of 8am and 6pm, ceremonies can take place. Nevertheless, it is important to consider that during certian times of the year, such as Lent and Christmas, the minister may be unwilling to fit it around his commitments.

When getting married in a church, its sensible to find out the fees that you may be required to pay. Be aware if the church has a set fee or if it charges for individual services. These may include cleaning, heating, bell ringing, choir and organist.
It is advisable to book the church six weeks in advance (minimum), but it is advisable to book much earlier to ensure the date and time of the ceremony desired is available.
