When deciding on the special dress, be sure to remember that it should not only suit your figure, but more importantly your personality. Comfort is paramount and the time/place of your wedding may effect the style that you choose. If you are travelling abroad for your wedding, do be aware of the temperature and be sure to organise suitable packaging to store your dress whilst travelling (which can often be easily arranged with your bridal boutique/designer).

The Brides wedding outfit not only consists of the dress, but shoes, veil, tiara/head-dress, bag, stockings, and all important underwear. A good fitting bra is important and recommended to have prior the fittings of the dress.

When choosing shoes, be aware of the heel and the general fitting of them. Ensure that the chosen design is comfortable and easily wearable. On the day, have someone to put your shoes on or put them on yourself before you dress to avoid creating a crease in your dress.

Be aware when choosing your head-dress of how your hair may be on the day and the height of it compared to the height of your partner, to avoid over towering.

Finally, be sure to choose your dress within plenty of time. Satin and Lace recommend to order ideally six months before the wedding date to allow four months for the dress to come in and plenty of time for any alterations or adjustments.
